"Perhaps after the war," he says. "I would like some chance to distinguish myself yet, finish above a meer Captain. Then you may seal us away in some mansion somewhere, with lots of green." Another thought, one which has been niggling at him; "Monty left me a good deal of wealth, if the angry letters from his distant cousin are to be believed.
